Having won the Musicus Society Call for Scores in 2024, I’m fortunate to be able to take my music to a whole new part of the world, to meet new audiences.
In just a month and a half, I’ll be in Canada as Composer in Residence at Biglake Arts to join up with the amazing Dior Quartet and present my new commissioned piece, Four Walls.
It’s such an honour to have these talented, sensitive, and diverse artists be the first to take my music to a new country. Continent, perhaps even.
This intense, pensive piece is a thematic continuation of the energetic first string quartet I ever wrote 8 years ago. It’s such a personal subject to write about — and also so much fun to finish over the holidays!
So big thanks to Musicus Society for making this happen and for the prestigious award!
