Conducting masterclass with Peter Stark

I’ve been selected to take part in a conducting masterclass led by renowned conductor and educator Peter Stark. I will be rehearsing George Butterworth’s The Banks of Green Willow with the St Giles Orchestra, under Mr Stark’s guidance, and performing it in concert the same day. One of the participants will even be selected by the orchestra to conduct an overture in a later concert!

Date: 10 March 2019
Masterclass: 11:30–16:30
Concert: 17:00–18:00

Conducting Humperdinck again

Branching out from my usual composition workshops and performances, I’ve been selected to take part in a conducting workshop led by conductor-composers Dr John Traill and Dr Cayenna Ponchione.

By coincidence, I get to conduct Engelbert Humperdinck’s best known work, the Hansel and Gretel Overture, again, after leading the CUHK Student Orchestra in its annual concert in May 2018. The seminar and workshop also include Richard Strauss’ Don Juan.

Time to dust off my old scores!
